Why the Fastest Way to Lose Belly Fat May Not Be the Best Way to Lose Belly Fat
January 27th, 2010
If you were to drop your keys on the floor in front of you, could you comfortably bend over and pick them up? Or, would you really have to reach hard, pressing into the stiff fat surrounding your mid-section just to reach them? If you would be out of breath and red faced just from this simple task, it’s time to consider the best way to lose belly fat.
If you feel desperate to lose the fat and want to take it off as quickly as possible, this is completely understandable. When you get to that breaking point where you know you have to get healthier to improve your life because you can no longer live a miserable, uncomfortable existence, you are finally mentally ready to lose the weight once and for all.
Yet, you have to realize there is a difference between losing belly fat fast and losing belly fat forever.
Fast Weight Loss vs. Permanent Fat Loss
There are no rapid weight loss plans that will teach you how to live thin and healthy for the rest of your life. If a plan is designed to help you lose ten pounds a week, it simply cannot be healthfully sustained long term because that is an unnatural amount of weight to lose on a regular basis.
In most cases, these diets will rely upon extremely restrictive plans which lead to temporary weight loss. The problem is they are so restrictive you cannot keep them up long term and will eventually put all the weight back on. They can also destroy your metabolism over time, which works against your desire to burn off actual body fat!
On the other hand, permanent fat loss that lasts the rest of your life must pump up your metabolism so you burn more calories not only while you workout, but in between workouts. You will never be able to do this by starving yourself, cutting out carbs, or trying to live without dietary fat. You actually need to eat at regular intervals throughout the day and combine your foods in the right ways to lose actual body fat on a consistent basis.
Fast weight loss is about seeing a change in the scale that makes you feel good for the moment, but permanent fat loss is about seeing real changes in the shape and feel of your body which make you feel good for the rest of your life!
Why Eating is Essential to Losing
If you want to make real changes in your body right now without ever having to re-lose the same pounds all over again, it’s time to ditch the idea of losing a hundred pounds in three months. It may happen on TV, but you aren’t on TV and it simply isn’t going to happen that way in the real world.
If you focus on feeding your body the foods it needs to function at peak performance and doing so at just the right times of day, you will find that the fat comes dripping off faster than you think. You can actually lose a nice amount of weight on a consistent schedule if you simply learn to work with your body’s needs, rather than depriving it of those needs.
